Shoes are an everyday essential, but Frank Li' 20 puts his sneakers collections secret and underground. It wasn’t until fellow shoe lover Lewis Going' 20 visits him and saw Li's collection in person, in shock.

 

Regarding shoes in the new year, Li said, "Just gotta stay fresh with the new kicks, you know." But really, what many don’t know is the influence shoes have on our society these days.

 

As of now, Famous sneaker brands such as Nike currently is at the net worth of $117.62 Billion, with 25 sells per second. At the same time, the retail tycoon have really excelled in their designs and widened their field in sneaker fashion. Notably, the Jordan 1 line has been an "all time classic," as Li puts it, not to mention the famous collaboration Nike had with Off White, an trendy Italian streetwear brand. "The Jordan 11 Concord AJ will be one to watch in the new year," Li said. "I have been scrolling through the GOAT (an online shoe app) calendar to see what is coming up." This past year, the brand "Jordan" itself holds a place of $1.65 billion, almost 5 times more than its net worth of $350 million from 12 month earlier.

 

Not only brand collaborations, but also in sports, sneakers have played a significantly larger role as time passes. "I would buy whatever they are wearing," Li laughs. "Wear better, play better." Basketball players like Michael Jordan have made his tribute to the fashion as he signs 110$ million shoe deal with Nike.

 

Whats more, to Lewis Going '20 shoes are what identify you as a person. "It's how you can express yourself." Li at the same time thinks shoes represent who you are: "I don’t know about others but for me, if you look at people, you look at their shoes." Same thing with popular public figures, Going mentions, "If you look at the most influential celebrities, whatever they shoes they wear, will become instantly popular in the next week or so."

 

Finding new kicks, however, will never lose its way of sources and platforms- such as in store, online, etc. Many apps such as Instagram, Stock X, Goat, provide their selective users with the most up-to-date trends.
